Photo I

Aloe
This was the first image I took for this class on a film camera. I was able to get good contrast between the plant and the background. I really like how the blacks and whites were for my first picture.
Abaya
This is a traditional piece of Arab clothing called an abaya. This photo was from my free choice roll. The rule of thirds and contrast from the detailing is my favorite part of this piece.

Striped Glass
For this shoot, the theme was reflection. I put a glass of water in front of a sparkly pot and it created a striped effect from the water distorting the image of the object behind it.
A Ship at Bay
Taken at Navy Pier, in Chicago Illinois, this is a ship that is docked at the pier and the fence creates "leading lines" to the focal point-- the ship. Additionally, the Sun reflecting on the water created a light contrast between the ship and the lake.

Spring Is Here
This is a photo of newly bloomed tulips in my front yard. In addition to the tulips, the lily leaves also shown through in this image.
Abaya-- Toned
The same picture as "Abaya" but it is toned in copper photo toner. The outcome of this photo was really cool and it gave the whites of this photo a unique perspective.

Swords and Statues
A sandwich print with a photo of a statue in my backyard with an antique sword and other canes.
Error 404
This was from the night shoot. With my brother as a model at his computer, I took the light from his computer in my advantage to illuminate his face and hands resting on his keyboard.

Lion in the Garden
This is a lion statue in my garden that I took with my mirror. The range of blacks, whites, and grays on this photo created depth and contrast in this photo.
Abaya-- Hand Colored in Oil Paint
This photo has an additional scarf along with the abaya, which is hand-colored in oil paints on the sequins to create a reflective rainbow effect.

Action Part I--Still
This is another photo of my brother on my bathroom counter-- dancing may I add. The light in this photo and the reflection of himself in the image adds for a unique effect in the action photo.
Action Part II--Movement
This is the other part of the action series. In this picture I believe I yelled at him to "KEEP MOVING DUDE". He started moving his head and arms in circles, and I got this photo :).
